I guess when they said chivalry was dead, “they” weren’t lying. There’s no secret that we are definitely living in a microwavable society, and I guess dating is no exception to the rule. I remember when people were skeptical of online dating sites, now, you don’t need to go through the embarrassing steps of plugging in your height and weight, your occupation, and your turn offs to create an online dating profile, when you can just hop on Twitter and Instagram.
As I scrolled down my timeline I’ve noticed many celebrities are “hooking up” via social media, with just a few simple “likes”, maybe some heart eyed emoji under a few pics, and a quick slide in a DM, and BOOM you’re in a relationship or should I say a “lituation-ship”.
There has been plenty of celebrity couples who have built “lituation-ship” through Instagram and Twitter. For example, here are top 5 celeb couples who started their relationship via social media:
Tyga’s baby momma is now dating rising boxing star J’Leon Love…How did this candle get lit you asked? Blac Chyna met Love about 3 weeks ago and started the flirting when she made him her #MCM, he flirted back and they’ve been on ever since. -__-
I know we all always wondered how Big Sean swept the young actress off her feet. Welp, by sliiiding into her twitter DM’s with the sweetest message that read, “I’m a fan”. They went to dinner and the rest was history, just like their current relationship lol.
Wiz Khalifa & Amber Rose
According to ‘Muva’, the now divorced couple initially met through twitter. Apparently, Wiz did an interview where he was asked ‘If there was one girl in the world who would you be with?’ He said ‘Amber Rose.’ And then she hit him up on Twitter, followed by a cute kid and a failed marriage.
Here’s another couple who proves that these instant relationships doesn’t always work out. Former footballer Chad began lurking on ex-basketball wife reality star Evelyn’s Twitter. A few months later, the lovebirds were hitched, and a tragic headbud later they were divorced, smdh.
Who can forget about Keysh and Boobie! NBA baller Daniel “Boobie” Gibson saw Keyshia Cole on tv and he knew he wanted her. So what did he do? Yup you guessed it, he first caught Cole’s attention by using twitter, and well, we all know what happened next,
Dating has become too effortlessly for me, I don’t know about ya’ll but if someone was trying to pursue me, they gota do a whooooole lot more than just make me their #WCW. Quoting from our very own Monie Love, “dating has become like instant oatmeal, you just add a little hot water and stir three times.” I wish we could go back to the good old days when people met in person, and actually took their time in getting to know each other, or maybe that’s just me.
