Travis Scott’s debut studio album “Rodeo” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Rap Albums chart but according to the Texas artist, he doesn’t consider himself to be hip-hop.

Speaking with Clique, Scott revealed that he doesn’t want to be compared to other rappers because he finds them to be “corny.”

“I don’t consider myself hip-hop,” Scott said. “I don’t want you to put me up next to n**gas cause some of them n**gas are just like, straight corny … I think with production I pay very close attention.”

According to Scott, his passion for production is what separates him from other rappers.

“Cause that’s my favorite thing in music. That’s the whole drive. That’s the reason. So, I gotta just make sure I have that ill s**t n**gas just can’t get. N**gas just can’t be playing they beats and have the same producer that sound like a Travis Scott song. I just don’t f**k with that,” he continued.

Scott also spoke about his album and said it was a blueprint for kids who want to be in the position he is in today.

“I made the album kinda like—It was kinda like what I was feeling when I was trying to get to this point right now. To be sitting in this chair. And then it’s kinda like a blueprint for kids who wanna do the same. It’s like the inner-child-beast-man,” he said.
