Rihanna might still have us waiting for her upcoming album, but she’s not wasting time to get back into her acting chops.
According to director Luc Besson, the Bajan beauty has signed on to join the cast of The Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, a film following the story of the graphic novel of the same name.
Reports say that she has been casted alongside the likes of Cara Delevingne, She Dane DeHaan, and Clive Owen, with filming set to start this January. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait until 2017 for its release.
The synopsis of the movie states, “Produced by Besson’s EuropaCorp, “Valerian” adapts Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mezieres’ graphic novel and unfolds in the 28th century when humanity discovered time travel. The big-budget project has tapped three elite visual effects firms to help realize Besson’s vision of the future — Weta Digital, Industrial Light & Magic and Rodeo FX.”
