Prince’s autopsy was completed yesterday, the results of which are not yet available. The authorities who discovered Prince’s body suggest there is no reason to believe his death was a suicide.

Yesterday (Apr. 22), a day after Prince was found dead in his Minnesota estate, an autopsy was conducted to determine the cause of death. A spokeswoman for the Medical Examiner’s Officer in Ramsey, Minnesota, where the autopsy took place, has stated that it could be “days or weeks” until the results of the autopsy are known and released to the public, reports CNN.

Also yesterday, it was reported that Prince had been treated for a Percocet overdose less than a week before his death. It was known that Prince had received medical attention following an emergency plane landing on April 15, though it was erroneously reported that he was treated for the flu, and not a drug overdose. Though results from the autopsy are not yet available, Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson has said that Prince’s body showed “no obvious signs of trauma” that might indicate suicide when it was first discovered.
