NEW YORK CITY, NY – This week on the R&B/Hip Hop single sales chart, Drake returns to #1 with his single “One Dance,” dethroning Prince’s “Purple Rain” which occupied the top spot for the past two weeks. Elsewhere, six of Prince’s songs fall out of the Top 10 and lastly, Ghost Town DJ’s single, “My Boo,” widely known for being the soundtrack to The Running Man Challenge, jumps from #46 to #9 following a 47% increase in sales.

Drake Returns To #1

After two weeks away from the top spot, Drake’s “One Dance” once again lands at #1 on the chart this week. The cut, which features Wizkid and Kyla, sold 159,595 units during the seven days leading to May 5, a 32% increase on the 121,360 copies sold the previous week. These latest figures take the single’s total sales since its official release to 588,411 units.

Beyoncé’s “Formation” Jumps To #2

Despite a 32% decrease in sales, Beyoncé’s “Formation” jumps one place to #2 on the R&B/Hip Hop single sales chart this week. During the seven days leading to May 5, the controversial single sold 119,019 units, taking its total sales since its official release on to the chart’s two weeks ago to 293,181 copies.
