East Cleveland Mayor Gary Norton closed Prive Restaurant and Ultra Lounge after more than 40 reported incidents requiring police intervention.

Most recently, police were called to the club for a double shooting on July 24 where a security guard and one other were wounded before the suspect took off and crashed on Lee Rd. Authorities found a semi-automatic rifle on the ground.

The nightclub, located at 15007 Euclid Ave., has been closed permanently after Mayor Norton addressed the court on behalf of the city’s residents Wednesday morning. He had also submitted legislation to the East Cleveland City Council, seeking non-renewal of the club’s state-issued liquor license.
