Meet Cache McClay. . .My very first Shining Star award winner!

Cache was nominated by her God Mother:

“It is a great pleasure and honor to nominate Cache McClay for the Shining Stars Award. I am Cache’s God-Mother from Cleveland, Ohio and I have known Cache McClay her entire life. I see first-hand what a beautiful and smart young lady she has grown to be. Cache is deeply committed to her education, her internships, to being a mentor for the youth [including my 15 year old daughter] and to her family. I highly recommend that she be given the Shining Stars Award.

Cache’s dedication to Journalism, has proven her commitment to learning. She has interned, co-anchored and hosted numerous TV News and Broadcast stations including: [WHUT Newscast, NBC News, NBC Universal 2016 Summer Olympics, WNWV 107.3, WHBC 96.3, WHUR 96.3 and WKYC Channel 3 News]. Cache has tutored elementary students in the local D.C. Metropolitan area as well as Hosted Pageants.

Cache currently attends Howard University, School of Communications in Washington D.C. where she majors in Broadcast Journalism, with a Minor in Spanish.  In 2012, Cache interned at the Spanish Immersion Program where she studied abroad in Concepcion, Chile. Cache’s skills include: Spanish [moderate], Microsoft Office, Verbal Communication Abilities, Marketron Radio Software, Media Central.  Cache’s Honors/Awards include: Former Fellow, School of Communications Annenberg Honors Program, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and Deans List [4 years]. Her expected graduation date from Howard University is May 2017.

I am highly recommending Cache McClay for the Shining Stars Award simply because she IS a shining star to so many! She is a dedicated and gifted young lady who we are so proud of.
