Former FBI Director James Comey Could Speak On Interactions with Trump as Early as Next Week-blogged by @thereal__bee ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Former #FBI Director #JamesComey is set to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee as early as next week. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to #CNN, a source close to Comey says that his testimony will more than likely confirm that Comey was pressured by Trump to stop investigating the administration's ties to Russia. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Right before Comey started his investigation into Trump’s Russian ties, Trump fired him stating that his probing was the reason. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "I was going to fire Comey knowing there was no good time to do it,” Trump told NBC News’ Lester Holt in early May. “And in fact, when I decided to just do it, I said to myself — I said, you know, this Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made-up story. It’s an excuse by the Democrats for having lost an election that they should’ve won.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While Comey will more than likely not discuss any of his findings from the investigation, the source tells CNN that Comey is willing to discuss his intense interactions with Trump during the 24 days he was apart of the administration. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to Comey, the first week Trump took office in January, he was told that he must remain "loyal" to Trump if he wanted to be kept on as the FBI Director. Apart of his "loyalty" included him stopping his ongoing investigation against #MichaelFlynn, Trump's former national security adviser. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "The bottom line is he’s going to testify,” the source said. “He’s happy to testify, and he’s happy to cooperate.”
