It’s been an ominous, albeit relatively quiet start to the Odell Beckham Jr. era for the Cleveland Browns. While Antonio Brown – another prolific wide-receiver that changed teams this off season – has already had his press conference and announced himself in person to his new home team, speculation mounds around the exact whereabouts of ODB.

Now, granted, this is the time of year where players can keep to themselves. He isn’t contractually obligated to do anything for the Browns, in terms of appearances or announcements, as far as I know.

Still, Browns fans want to see their newest, shiniest toy front and center – and it appears that we’ll have to wait just a little bit longer for that.

On Tuesday March 19th, ODB posted (and has since deleted) a curious message to his Instagram account. The NY Post has the full story.

Odell Beckham Jr. is going off the grid.

On Tuesday, the new Browns receiver posted a lengthy message to Instagram, alongside an image of a black box, stating he would be going “dark” for the next few days to focus on his well-being in light of recent events.

“P.S.A. I love you all so much, for the ones that follow and support I thank u all for that. I’m takin an emotional, mental, physical/ blah blah blah vacation,” Beckham, 26, began.

“I appreciate the love honestly but at this moment for the next couple of days I’m goin dark. I won’t be around , phone is gone, with all due respect, please don’t text/ call / FaceTime unless it’s of the utmost importance . I really need some time to vibe and just get away, process, reevaluate some of the things in my life, as much has changed for me recently.”
