While this is a considerable investment into the furtherance of minority designers in mainstream fashion is it enough ? Is it ok to just throw money at the problem to be forgiven ? Today, the Harlem fashion renaissance figure announced his launch of Gucci Changemakers, aimed at aiding up and coming urban clothiers break into mainstream fashion.
The $5 million funds from Gucci is supposed to partner with other not-for-profit organizations around the country in cities like Miami, Atlanta, New York, Washington D.C., Houston, and L.A. to ensure its impact.
