Jarvis Landry, a five-time Pro-Bowl wide receiver, has been released by the Cleveland Browns.
After a failed attempt to restructure his contract once the Browns acquired wide receiver Amari Cooper from the Dallas Cowboys, Landry was given permission by the Browns to seek a trade. The word is that teams weren’t thrilled to pick up Landry’s $16M contract for next season, and assume they can probably sign him for cheaper in free agency.
The Browns got Landry in a trade with the Miami Dolphins in 2018. His past two seasons were riddled with injury. Last season he finished with 52 catches for 570 yards, both career lows.

BEREA, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns have released wide receiver Jarvis Landry, the team announced Monday.
The two sides attempted to restructure his contract to keep him in Cleveland, a league source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter, but ultimately couldn’t work out a deal. Landry is now free to sign with any team.
