Report: Sauce Walka & His Artist Sayso P Shot In Memphis

Several sources are reporting that Houston rapper Sauce Walka and his artist, Sayso P, were shot while out shopping in Memphis on Saturday (March 22). Reports indicate that Sayso did not survive and Walka is in stable condition. The pair, along with fellow rapper Sosamann, where in town for a show the previous evening. There has been no report that Sosa was with them when the shooting took place.

The shooting occurred just outside the Westin Hotel at the intersection of Second Street and Lt. George W. Lee Avenue, prompting officials to shut down roads in the immediate area. While authorities have not yet confirmed the identities of those involved several online sources identified Sauce and Sayso as the gunfire victims.

A viral clip of a wounded individual who appears to be Sayso P has been making its rounds online. In the video the man can be seen bloodied and laying on the ground as emergency workers provide aid.

For fans of Texas Hip Hop, today’s news arrives just days after another local artist, Yella Beezy, was arrested on capital murder charges for his alleged involvement in the shooting death of rapper MO3.

MO3, real name Melvin Noble Jr., was gunned down on Interstate 35E in Dallas on November 11, 2020, as he attempted to run away from the shooter.

According to Fox 4 News, a Dallas County grand jury indicted Beezy on Tuesday for capital murder while remuneration, meaning prosecutors believe he paid to have Mo3 killed. Court documents obtained by FOX 4 reveal that Beezy allegedly hired Kewon Dontrell White to carry out the hit. Mo3, whose real name was Melvin Noble, was gunned down in broad daylight on I-35 in Dallas on November 11, 2020. Investigators say it was an ambush-style attack—Mo3 was chased on foot before being shot. The killing shook the hip-hop community, as Mo3 was known for his raw lyrics and street storytelling.
