The WBA Strips Gervonta Davis Of His Lightweight Title!!
You may recall Gervonta Davis facing domestic violence charges after his ex (Courtney Rossel), accused him kidnapping, battery, and more. Allegedly this happened back in October at a strip club in Miami, to which a warrant was issued for Davis by Miami Gardens Police.
Following the insurance of said arrest warrant, the World Boxing Association president, Gilberto Mendoza, decided to strip Gervonta Davis of his WBA Lightweight Title and has been placed in Champion In Recess status. (Details courtesy of The Shade Room).
Davis’ last fight was back in March against Lamont Roach Jr., where he got the dub and kept his lightweight title. Gervonta doesn’t have any fights scheduled as of late, but we’ll keep you posted on how all of this will impact future fights and his career overall!
