Cam Newton Reportedly Among Latest High-Profile ESPN Layoffs

🏈 Another big name is reportedly leaving ESPN. Former NFL MVP Cam Newton is said to be among the latest personalities impacted by the network's ongoing layoffs.

Cam Newton is reportedly the latest high-profile sports personality to be affected by ESPN’s ongoing wave of layoffs.

According to multiple reports, the former NFL MVP has parted ways with the network after joining ESPN in late 2024. During his time there, Newton became a regular contributor, often appearing alongside Stephen A. Smith on First Takeduring football season.

His reported departure comes as ESPN continues making significant staffing cuts across both ESPN and NFL Network. Other well-known personalities reportedly impacted include Ryan Clark, Karl Ravech, Charles Davis and Tom Pelissero.

Despite the reported exit, Newton already has an established presence outside of television. The former quarterback hosts successful podcasts, including 4th & 1 and Funky Friday, giving him a platform to continue connecting with fans.

Ryan Clark, who was also reportedly laid off, shared a message of encouragement for former coworkers, saying he understands what they’re experiencing and hopes new opportunities come their way.

Neither ESPN nor Cam Newton publicly commented immediately following the reports.
