JT is adding another skill to her résumé.

The rapper recently revealed on TikTok that she’s learning how to DJ, and the experience has given her a whole new appreciation for what actually happens behind the booth.

And apparently, one lesson hit home quickly: song requests aren’t as simple as people think.

As JT started learning the technical side of DJing, she realized why DJs sometimes have to ignore requests from the crowd.

She joked that she now understands why DJs “ignore the f**k out of” certain requests.

There’s More to DJing Than Just Picking Songs

Anyone can make a playlist. DJing a live crowd requires something completely different.

A DJ has to watch the room, control the energy, choose the right song at the right moment and figure out how that record fits with what’s already playing.

That means someone walking up and requesting a song doesn’t automatically make that song the right choice.

The requested record might completely change the vibe, clash with the music the DJ has lined up next or simply not work for that particular crowd.

JT apparently started seeing that side of the job once she got behind the equipment herself.

Could DJ JT Be Coming Soon?

JT hasn’t announced plans to leave rapping behind for the DJ booth, but learning the craft could give her another way to connect with fans and music.

It also puts her in the position many DJs probably wish every clubgoer could experience at least once: actually standing behind the decks before complaining about why their request hasn’t played yet.

So the next time you request a song and the DJ keeps the party moving like they never heard you, just remember — JT might finally understand exactly why.
