BigXthaPlug Arrested in Texas on DWI, Marijuana and Firearm Charges
BigXthaPlug is facing new legal trouble after police arrested the Dallas rapper in Texas on Friday.
Online jail records show the Allen Police Department booked BigXthaPlug, whose real name is Xavier Darnell Landum, into the Collin County Jail.
Authorities charged him with driving while intoxicated, possession of less than two ounces of marijuana and unlawful possession of a firearm, according to TMZ.
Arrest Forces BigXthaPlug to Miss Festival
The arrest also affected BigXthaPlug’s touring schedule.
That same day, organizers for Canada’s Country Rising Festival announced that the rapper would no longer perform at the event. Organizers cited a “personal emergency” when explaining his absence.
The timing also came as BigXthaPlug released his rap-country crossover album, I Hope You’re Happy.
BigXthaPlug Has Faced Previous Arrests
This isn’t the first time BigXthaPlug has encountered legal trouble involving a vehicle.
According to TMZ, police arrested him in Dallas exactly one year earlier after officers allegedly discovered a firearm and marijuana inside his vehicle during a traffic stop.
He also faced another arrest in February 2025 after authorities allegedly found marijuana in his vehicle.
BigXthaPlug or his representatives had not publicly responded to TMZ’s request for comment at the time of its report.
The latest charges remain allegations, and the case will determine whether prosecutors can prove them.
