Black Mirror Season 8 Now In Production, No Long Wait

Black Mirror Season 8 has officially started production, and Netflix isn’t wasting much time bringing us another round of stories that’ll probably have everybody questioning technology, humanity and life itself.

Netflix confirmed filming has started in England, just 16 months after Season 7 hit the streaming service.

And honestly, that turnaround is kinda crazy for Black Mirror. This show has made fans wait YEARS between seasons before, so getting another season this quickly feels like somebody over at Netflix finally heard us.

Creator Charlie Brooker returns to write and executive produce the new season, and Ms. Marvel creator Bisha K. Alijoins him as a writer and executive producer.

Production has already popped up around the English countryside. One confirmed location, Hope Cove House, has reportedly transformed into the fictional “Sandcastle Hotel.”

Now before everybody starts trying to figure out the plot from that name alone — slow down. They haven’t told us what’s actually going down inside that hotel yet.

But come on… this is Black Mirror.

A hotel called the Sandcastle Hotel already sounds like somewhere you check in as a regular person and check out as an artificial intelligence trapped inside a toaster.

Brooker actually teased the show’s return months ago and basically joked that reality itself has gotten so crazy that his brain had no choice but to start working on more episodes.

And after Season 7, expectations are definitely up there.

Season 7 earned Golden Globe nominations and even gave fans the show’s first-ever direct sequel with “USS Callister: Into Infinity.”

Now Brooker says he wants Season 8 to come back feeling even MORE like Black Mirror.

So basically…

Prepare to watch six episodes and then stare suspiciously at Alexa for the rest of the night.

Netflix hasn’t announced the Season 8 premiere date yet, but with production officially underway, the next nightmare is already cooking.
