Kai Cenat Surprises Couple With Engagement Ring Offer
Kai Cenat Tries to Buy Couple an Engagement Ring — Then Finds the Woman in His Old DMs
- Kai Cenat offered to buy an engagement ring for a couple he met at Walmart.
- He discovered the bride-to-be had messaged him on Instagram before their relationship started.
- The boyfriend was unfazed, saying whatever happened before them didn't matter.
Kai Cenat’s engagement ring offer took a hilarious turn after the streamer offered to help a couple take the next step in their relationship, only to discover he already had a little history with the bride-to-be.
Kai and fellow AMP member Chris stopped at Walmart for snacks when they ran into a couple who recognized them.
After taking a picture, Kai started talking to the man about his relationship and asked whether he planned to marry his girlfriend.
The man said YES — but explained he wanted to save enough money to buy her an engagement ring first.
He estimated the ring would cost around $1,200.
That’s when Kai decided to play Cupid.
Kai offered to BUY THE RING himself.
At first, this looked like one of those feel-good viral moments. Kai was about to help this man put a ring on his woman’s finger.
Then Kai asked for her Instagram.
And THAT’S when everything changed. 😂
Kai Finds Himself in Her DMs
Kai pulled up the woman’s Instagram because he wanted to make sure the money actually went toward the engagement ring.
But once he opened her account, he realized something:
She had already messaged HIM.
Kai found DMs from 2023 that reportedly included messages like asking whether he lived in Atlanta and what the “move” was.
Now imagine standing there with your girlfriend while another man is offering to buy you an engagement ring — and then that same man discovers YOUR GIRL in his old DMs.
BRO. 😭
Kai immediately looked caught off guard.
However, there’s an important detail here: the messages came from 2023, and the boyfriend said they had been together for almost two years.
So according to that timeline, she apparently sent the messages before their relationship started.
The woman also explained that she wasn’t trying to flirt with Kai. She said she was simply trying to network.
And her man?
He didn’t seem too bothered.
He basically hit everybody with: Whatever happened before us happened before us.
That man was NOT about to let some old DMs ruin his relationship. 😂
Social Media Had PLENTY to Say
Once the clip hit social media, everybody started debating whether those messages even counted as “sliding into the DMs.”
Some people defended the woman because the messages came before the relationship.
Others joked that the boyfriend might have lost his free engagement ring the second Kai opened that inbox.
And then you had people asking the obvious question:
Why did Kai even bring up messages from three years ago if they happened before the couple got together?
That’s actually where this story gets interesting.
Because if she sent those messages BEFORE she started dating her boyfriend, did she really do anything wrong?
Or would seeing your future wife in another man’s old DMs still have you looking at her sideways — even if technically she was single at the time?
