FINDING DORY Advance Screening Hosted by Keshia Knight Pulliam & Kamp Kizzy at AMC Phipps Plaza

The news of Ed Hartwell‘s split with his wife, actress Keshia Knight Pulliam shocked many as they had married just months before . Pulliam quickly came forward to claim that she was blindsided by the request for divorce, which came just days after a public announcement that she was pregnant with a baby girl.

Earlier this week, Pulliam appeared on ET to claim her shock and innocence in the divorce.

Hartwell has now clapped back, saying the divorce was not his fault, and that the strain that lead him to file for divorce was entirely due to Pulliam’s actions and requests following their wedding.

Hartwell spoke to PageSix to say that their marriage began falling apart just a couple of months after their tied the knot on January 1st of this year. The 38-year-old former NFL pro said that the marriage was torn apart by jealousy, disagreements, and suspicious of infidelity.

He also said that since they stopped having sex fairly early in the relationship he believes that Pulliam may have gone behind his back to get pregnant with the baby she is now carrying.

She wanted a baby really fast, and what I was trying to explain to her was that – from my beliefs, from seeing other successful people – that when you first get married, especially since we didn’t have a long courtship, that we should actually focus on each other and not just have a baby,” he said. “That’s something she really did want to do.”

He also said that he had a sit down with his wife to tell her “I think we probably messed up. I think we moved too fast.” But Hartwell said the only thing Pulliam was upset about was his desire to delay a pregnancy.

After that, Hartwell said his wife fled to visit a spiritualist and “started going out with friends all the time and not telling me when she was coming home or sometimes not coming home at all.” He later moved out of the house, and was shocked to learn that his wife was pregnant. He has since asked for a paternity test, not believing the child is his. “As time kept going past and the days went past, some things just weren’t adding up. So for me it’s not me saying she’s a bad person,” he said. “She wants what she wants, I want what I want : she wants a baby, I want to find love and happiness. But at the end of the day, I think if things don’t add up, I think it’s fair for me…to want a test.”

He continued, “I can’t say she’s been unfaithful. I can say she’s stayed out, she’s not came home, she’s went out-of-town … for three days, I don’t know what’s going on. I can say that.” Adding, “I can’t say she was unfaithful. I can say she wanted to get in vitro, I can say she wanted to do some things to make sure she got pregnant. I just want to make sure it is mine.”

He concluded by turning Pulliam’s claims that he cheated on her back on his ex-wife. “One thing I have found out about her — and it’s not to bash her — is that she can tell a half-truth to make sure that she seems like, I don’t want to say the victim,” he said. But that she’s the one that’s right.”
