From MSNBC:

A rapper wanna-be was convicted of sending a slew of lewd photos an texts to the mother of Grammy-winning artist Ashanti.

Devar Hurd, 31, was found guilty of stalking and aggravated harassment and faces up to two years in jail for his attempts to court the R&B beauty by sending tawdry messages and X-rated pictures he said were “for the ladies” to the artist’s mother and manager, Tina Douglas. His sentencing is set for Jan. 11 in a Manhattan court. Hurd said last week that he wanted to meet Ashanti after the two made eye contact at a 2003 concert in Chicago. He left voicemails for Douglas then began bombarding her with texts and then photos of his genitals, according to the New York Daily News.

The sometime-model and car salesman said he thought the messages were welcome and he meant them as a joke.
