PLAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) –

Five Hoover High School students injured in a car crash, and troopers say alcohol appears to be a factor.

The crash happened just after midnight on Saturday on Pittsburg Avenue south of Applegrove Street.

Troopers tell 19 Action News 18-year-old Kyle Byelene was driving an Acura northbound on Pittsburg when he passed a vehicle on the right. Byelene lost control, drove off the road, struck a mailbox and a utility pole.

Byelene was seriously injured and transported to Aultman Hospital.

The teen had four passengers in his car when he crashed.

18-year-old Seth Noble was in the front seat and not wearing a seat belt. He was seriously injured and taken to Mercy Hospital.

16-year-old Brandon Miller was seated in the back seat and was wearing a seat belt. He suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from Aultman.

15-year-old Tyler Maloy was in the back seat and wearing his seat belt. He suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from Aultman.

15-year-old Kristi Morris was in the middle of the back seat. She was not wearing a seat belt. She was seriously injured and transported to Aultman Hospital.

No charges filed at this time.
