Nicki Minaj Scoops Up Lady Gaga’s Ex For Grammy Performance
‘Take Your Medication Roman!’
Nicki Minaj’s Grammy Awards performance last night had many people clutching the pearls and grabbing their bibles as she toyed with a Catholic Church theme to introduce her newest song ‘Roman’s Holiday’. Her jaw-dropping show began with an Exorcism of Roman (her alter ego) while stained-glass windows burst into fire, monks danced and alter boys prayed. The performance could have very well began on the red carpet when Nicki Minaj arrived at the Awards show in a red hooded dress while being escorted by a Catholic Priest.
It’s no surprise that the performance drew comparisons to Lady Gaga’s 2009 MTV Video Music Award performance where she collapsed on stage with blood dripping from her rib cage and smeared on her face before rising above her dancers on stage. (Also there have been comparison’s of Lady Gaga’s performance last year where she arrived on the red carpet in an egg, and escaped the egg during the opening of her performance). Although Roman’s Exorcism wasn’t as tragic as Gaga’s bloody performance, it’s not a surprise that Lady Gaga’s former choreographer, LaurieAnne Gibson was the mastermind behind it all. After parting ways with Gaga, she has become Nicki’s new creative partner and of course, Gaga fans were left MAD after the performance.
