(BlackMediaScoop) An 11-year-old boy (seen above) was killed as he tried to get help for his mother, who was fighting with her boyfriend on the side of a West Virginia interstate.
30 year old Lynitrah M. Woodson (seen below) was driving on Interstate 77 late Saturday when she got into an argument with her boyfriend, 21 year old Ethan Samuel Chic-Colbert (seen below).
Charleston police say he hit Woodson while she was driving, forcing her to pull over alongside a traffic median.
After the car stopped, Chic-Colbert allegedly dragged Woodson out of the car and kept beating her.
11 year old Jahlil Clements, got out and tried to flag down a passing vehicle for help.
But police said the driver of that vehicle failed to see the boy in his path and struck him.
Chic-Colbert is charged with child neglect causing injury, but the cops are speaking with prosecutors about the possibility of upgrading the charges.
Police said that the driver who hit the boy will not be charged.
Chic-Colbert is currently being held on $100,000 bond. Jail records did not indicate whether he had an attorney.
