A Georgia steakhouse is under fire for its Caribbean “black and bleu” sandwich, which is reportedly based on Chris Brown and Rihanna’s relationship.

According to New York Daily News:

Someone from the Chops & Hops restaurant in Watkinsville posted a photo Friday of the blue cheese-smothered steak sandwich on Facebook, along with a caption that said, ‘@chrisbrown, @rihanna and us teamed up for [an] award winning celebrity sandwich. Put your hands on this caribbean black and bleu sandwich.’

‘Chris Brown won’t beat you up for eating this unless your name starts with [an] R and ends with A,’ the post said.

In 2009, Chris Brown attacked his famous girlfriend, and later plead guilty to assault.  Pictures of her terribly bruised face were spread throughout the internet in the aftermath of the attack.  Clients of the restaurant wasted no time in denouncing the move as making light of domestic violence in tying it to the Chris Brown and Rihanna event.

“Cannot believe you find this appropriate,” wrote Nancy Downend Ferguson, “Was a loyal customer. Will never come back.”

The restaurant has now yanked the sandwich from the menu and issued an apology.  “The owners of C&H would like to make sure everyone knows that we and our staff DO NOT SUPPORT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE…Many of us have been affected by domestic violence in some manner and realize that this is no joke.”

The managers of the restaurant also declared that they will donate six times the amount of money they made on the item to Project Safe Team 6, a nonprofit organization that fights domestic abuse.

Fans of the restaurant seem to be pleased with the restaurant’s response.  One customer said, “Honestly the sandwich looks good and ‘Black and Bleu’ is a great name for it…However, if you plan on bringing it back I might suggest you name it after an MMA fighter, or hockey player… anything except a woman who was beaten.”

Tasteless, but those who have tried it begrudgingly admit, tasty.
