Michael Turner, running back for the Atlanta Falcons, was arrested early this yesterday morning for being under the influence of alcohol while driving. It’s suspected Turner was on his way home from celebrating the Falcons’ crushing defeat of the Denver Broncos a few hours prior.
According to police, Turner was stopped for going 95 miles per hour on a road where the maximum speed is 65. When the cops approached Michael Turner’s black Audi R8 at 4:08am, they could smell an alcoholic odor. Michael refused to take a breathalyzer when asked. He was subsequently arrested for the DUI.

The running back, who is in one of his last years of a $34 million/6 year contract, was released from jail on $2,179 bond. The Atlanta Falcons released a statement regarding the arrest, “We are aware of the situation involving Michael and are in the process of gathering more information. Because this is now a legal matter, the club will have no further comment at this time.”
