According to Nelly, things got messy after police pulled over his tour bus and brought in the narcotics-searching canines.

“Certain stuff we can say and certain stuff you can’t say until all that is cleared,” Nelly said in an interview. “We got pulled over and things were noticed as far as K-9 abilities and things went in stages from there. It was kind of wild. … [Sierra Blanco, Texas] ain’t a good spot to come through with anything you ain’t supposed to have. Everything happened so fast. It’s one of those situations where you’re squinting your eyes like, ‘Is this really happening?’ There was no way I would jeopardize what Nelly has built for the last 14-15 years being in the situation I was accused.” (V-103)

Last week, the rap veteran unleashed his fury following the arrest.

“I’m not gone front I’m MAD as Hell about this sh#t!!2have some1 who works 4u n who u call a friend 4 ova 10years jeopardize ur life WTF?,” Nelly tweeted Thursday evening.

“That being said he was not only an employee but he was fam some1 who protected my life 4many years! No excuses for wad he did!!!!”

“My heart goes out to his fam and is kids!!!!” (Nelly’s Twitter)

He also issued a formal statement to separate himself from the negative press.

“It is my understanding a member of my staff made an unfortunate decision to bring unlawful materials onto our tour bus that resulted in his arrest this morning, October 11th. Neither I nor anyone else on the tour bus was aware of his decision to bring these on board. Law enforcement officials in Sierra Blanca, Texas did not press charges against anyone other than that individual.” (Miss Info TV)

Reports of Nelly’s arrest flooded the Internet late last week.

Rapper Nelly was detained last night in Texas while police officers searched his tour bus — and found HEROIN in addition to a loaded gun … and MASSIVE amounts of weed … law enforcement sources tell TMZ. According to law enforcement sources, Nelly’s bus was stopped at a border patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca — and a police canine detected the presence of drugs. We’re told cops pulled the bus over — and after performing a search, they found 36 small baggies of heroin (totaling .64 ounces) and over TEN POUNDS of marijuana inside a large green duffel bag (an amount roughly the size of a large bed pillow). Cops also say they found a loaded .45 caliber pistol. (TMZ)
