CLEVELAND – The woman who drove on a sidewalk to avoid a school bus was joined by a supporter as she held an “idiot” sign for the second day of her sentence Wednesday morning.

“I don’t agree that what you did was right but I still don’t believe you’re an idiot,” Archie Berwick of 87.7 FM told Hardin, media circling around her as she staked out a spot against the fence.

Berwick wore a sign of his own taped to his sweatshirt reading, “If she’s an idiot, then so am I =)”

Hardin did speak Wednesday but not to answer questions or give a response to her actions.

She could be overhead telling Berwick she refuses to speak to the reporters and isn’t “getting sucked into this.” Again, she would not say sorry.

“No, I’m not gonna say nothing. I’m gonna keep it quiet,” Hardin said.

Hardin did, however, release a statement to ABC News, which read:

“I broke traffic laws, the same as running a red light or texting while driving. All have the potential for a dangerous outcome. This is a learning example for me and my daughter that if you make poor or bad choices you have to suffer the consequences…”

At 8:45 a.m., Hardin’s mother returned to pick her up and told the media what she thought of her daughter’s punishment.

“Was it fair? To assassinate someone? No,” she said. “Potentially damaging someone? No.”

On Tuesday, court officials said Cleveland Municipal Court Judge Pinkey Carr would supervise Hardin Wednesday morning but Carr gave word she had changed her mind and did not show up.

The 32-year-old Hardin held the sign up for most of the second hour of the sentencing punishment and was not seen using her phone. On Tuesday, she nonchalantly supported the sign on the ground, fiddling around on her phone.

Carr sentenced Hardin to stand at the corner of East 38th and Superior Ave. from 7:45 – 8:45 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday wearing the sign. She also ordered Hardin to pay $250 in court costs and suspended her license for 30 days. [SOURCE]

Do you think her “punishment” was punishment enough?
