Former football star Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson is back in the news today for failing to report to his probation officer according to the terms of his punishment for allegedly head butting his then wife, Evelyn Lozada. While in court attempting to give an explanation for his failure to report, Chad playfully slapped his attorney on the bottom, to much to the dismay of the Court and the Judge. The Judge was not amused by Chad’s antics and despite his apology to the Court, the Judge sentenced him to 30 days in jail and extended his probation for another three months.

What Does This Mean?:

Chad failed to do what he was ordered to do per the terms of his sentencing/punishment for the domestic abuse case. Additionally, Chad disrespected the Court and the Judge by making “light” of the appearance and slapping his attorney on the bottom. You can’t do that.

How Does This Affect You?:

If you ever have to appear in front of a Judge for anything whether it is a traffic ticket, lawsuit for damages and/or a murder charge, respect must be shown to the Court, its officers and most important, the Judge. All courts are different in how they operate and the culture and attitude of those working there, however, it is never a good idea to make jest or lite of a serious issue such a probation violation. You never want to piss off a Judge…..ever…..
