*Paris Jackson requested to be transferred from UCLA Medical Center to a top out-of-state rehab facility in the wake of her suicide attempt, but the request was turned down, according to TMZ, because the rehab place fears an onslaught of paparazzi.

Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ that her UCLA doctors will not allow Paris to return home, because they believe she is still a serious danger to herself. According to TMZ, the doctors believe that unless she gets more professional help she could end up killing herself.

Paris’ biological mom, Debbie Rowe, has reportedly researched adolescent facilities around the country and found one in Utah that would be perfect. But TMZ cites sources who say the facility has turned down the request, because officials there fear paps will take pictures of not only Paris but other patients at the facility.

According to TMZ, Rowe is reportedly not satisfied with the other options, so the search continues. However, people connected with Paris are contacting the facility and asking for reconsideration, the website reported.

In the meantime, TMZ’s sources say Paris is stuck at UCLA, and she’s in the wing that treats patients with eating disorders — a problem Paris does not have.

Rowe is telling friends, “It’s just a tragedy. This girl needs help.”

Meanwhile, Paris has sent a message to her supporters through her mother.

“My daughter has asked that I extend a huge thank you for all your thoughts and prayers and support,” Rowe tweeted Monday. “She is strong like her father.”

The teenager’s godfather, Mark Lester, recently said he believes she’s “doing okay … she’s being looked after. She’ll be fine.”
