Tamar Braxton is giving her fans life everlasting (and lots of it) on her Love And War Tour!
She was born on March 17, 1977 into a singing and God-fearing family, the Braxtons. After her sister Toni’s career took off, sisters Trina, Tamar and Towanda teamed up, becoming a trio their So Many Ways album. Fast forward to 2014 and Tamar and her music mogul hubby Vincent Herbert are the proud parents of a baby boy Logan. The happy couple also has spin-off reality series of “Braxton Family Values,” called “Tamar & Vince” on We TV .
At long last, Tamar is currently on a national tour, promoting her sophomore album Love And War. We caught up with Tamar as she hit the Tower Theatre just outside Philadelphia recently. Armed with four sexy dancers, Tamar wowed the capacity crowd with tracks, including “All The Way Home,” and her solo CD’s title track “Love And War.” Meanwhile, Vince roamed the crowded theatre, accompanied by security guards.
Did Tamar invite would-be singers (male and female) on stage to see if they had what it takes? She did that! Truly her mother Evelyn’s daughter, Tamar held a custom microphone to her lips, smacking, “Don’t let nobody tell you that you can’t make it or…[Smack]…do what you wanna do in life,” she declared.
By the way, here’s a little history on the Tower Theatre, where Tamar played. A tiny singing musician, named Prince once arrived at the Tower in the arms of his then bodyguard, Big Chick. Also, a little known young singer once arrived in a limousine for her concert. She stepped out of the car, carrying her pink leather dress across her shoulders. She stepped into the wrong door, ending up not backstage, but in the theatre’s lobby, where they sold popcorn and candy. Her name was Whitney Houston.
We’re told that Tamar hosted several lucky fans aka “Tamartians” during a Meet & Greet before the concert. After dates in the mid-west, The Love & War Tour heads west to Los Angeles and San Francisco in California.
