Very few rap-on-rap relationships flourish, but that hasn’t stopped lyricists from dating one another over the years.
Just a few days ago, curvy Queens native Nicki Minaj gushed to GQ about Meek Mill, revealing that her favorite thing about her Philly man is “the way his lips feel.” But rappers dating rappers is far from a new phenomenon.
As controversial as their relationship was, Lil Kim and Biggie were an item back in the day. In a 1997 clip (above), Kim talked about her “teddy bear,” and dished on his reaction to Tupac‘s death, his unique way with women, and more. Meanwhile, Papoose has been holding Remy Ma down ever since we can remember – through a six-year prison bid and all. That’s love.
Some relationships make it, and for different reasons, others don’t. Either way, hip-hop relationships are a beautiful thing. Check out 12 rap-on-rap couples we’ll never forget in the gallery below.
