ASAP Rocky is being sued for $100,000 by his former landlord. The ASAP Mob member is facing a lawsuit after allegedly damaging his New York City apartment before moving out in August.
The “Everyday” rapper supposedly told his landlord that he would be making alterations to the apartment during his time there. But ASAP Rocky also agreed to restore everything to its previous condition before his lease ended according to TMZ. Apparently, the Harlem native did not live up to that end of the deal.
The landlord claims that ASAP Rocky left the apartment in a heavily damaged state upon the MC’s departure in August. Court documents say Rocky destroyed a custom walk-in wardrobe to turn it into a recording room. The rapper also removed a custom chandelier and security camera in addition to causing some unspecified damage to a bathroom.
The lawsuit is hoping to make ASAP Rocky cover all of the costs for the apartment’s repairs. The landlord is also seeking an additional $100,000 in punitive damages.
ASAP Rocky’s newfound legal woes are just a small blow to what’s a been a good time for the Harlem native as of late. Rocky recently let the news slip that his friend and collaborator Playboi Carti inked a deal with Interscope Records. The “Peso” rhymer broke the news during a performance at the Ham On Everything event in Los Angeles last Friday (Sept. 9).
