NYPD Officers Hold Rally In Support of Colin Kaepernick- blogged by @niksofly ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #ColonKaepernick has support from a source that may seem very unlikely. Last season , #Kaepernick took a knee during the national anthem in protest to social injustice and police brutality. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This past Saturday, about 80 officers from #NYPD came together to protest in support of Kaep. The officers took to the Brooklyn Bridge to show that officers did in fact support the #SuperBowl appearing quarterback. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to Sgt. Edwind Raymond "What Colin Kaepernick did is try to bring awareness that this nation unfortunately has ignored for far too long". Raymond continued, "And that's the issue of racism in America and policing in America. We decided to gather here today because of the way he's being railroaded for speaking the obvious truth.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Kaepernick remains an unsigned free agent although statistically he is just as good as if not better than many quarterbacks that hold a position. Many believe the #NFL is blackballing Kaep in a modern -day excercise of the Jim Crow Era.
