Petara Cordero, who is the girlfriend of Defensive End Chris Smith was struck by a car at 2 a.m. Wednesday morning in Cleveland, Ohio on I-90 West near West 140th exit ramp. The 47-year-old driver has admitted to Cleveland Police she had been drinking.
According to the Browns Statement, Smiths 2019 Lamborgini had a tire malfunction causing them to spin out into a median on the Highway. Smith who was Driving and Cordero the passenger both exited the vehicle with little to no injury to investigate the status of their vehicle. Cordero, 26, was then struck by an oncoming vehicle.
The Woman has not since been charged yet, Police say after receiving treatment at Fairview Hospital she has been released from custody. Investigators have not yet released the toxicology test determining if her blood-content level was over the legal limit.
