Actor and comedian John Witherspoon has passed away. He was 77 years old.
Most popular for portraying Ice Cube’s on screen father ‘Pops’ in the Friday movie series, Witherspoon had been doing stand-up comedy since the late 1970s.
“It is with deepest sorrow that we can confirm our beloved husband and father, John Witherspoon, one of the hardest working men in show business, died today at his home in Sherman Oaks at the age of 77,” the family stated on social media.
