It’s never easy losing a star whose light touched millions, and as fans around the world come to terms with the death of DMX, plans to celebrate his legacy have been announced.

According to TMZ, an April 24 memorial was initially open to the public. However, a later decision was made to only approve attendance for family and close friends. Despite the changes, fans of X will be able to live-stream the event.

DMX, born Earl Simmons, died April 9 after suffering a heart attack. He was 50.

Following the public memorial, those closest to X will gather for an intimate funeral service, scheduled for Sunday, April 25 in New York City.

In the wake of DMX’s passing, the music world took another major hit as former Bad Boy artist Black Rob‘s death was announced via social media on Saturday (April 17). Final arrangements for Rob’s funeral service have not yet been made public.
