Do you know about the African king that reigned during the Sunni Dynasty?
His name was Sonni Ali, but it can be spelled a variety of ways. Sonni Ali reigned from 1464 to 1492. Ali was the first king of the Songhai Empire.
Under his rule the Songhai Empire surpassed many other nations including the Mali Empire. During Ali reign there was many cities captured in cluding Timbuktu, and Dienné.
Ali is one of the 13th Great African Kings!
