A lanternfly is an invasive species that will cause harm and damage to the agriculture in Cleveland.
This species first appeared on the scene in 2020.
They were first discovered in Pennsylvania at a construction site, in 2014. Since then they have grown in a phenomenon and a threat to agriculture.
Ohio Department of Agriculture has confirmed that the flies are here in Cleveland.
The threat of these lanternflies can cause the economy hundreds of millions each year.
The species stabs the plant and sucks the juices out of the plant.
So if you happen to see one, simply step on it or find some way to kill it!
