Alright the 9th of November makes its World Adoption Day, which encourages for those who have been adopted to share their stoty.

There are many foster children in the world who are looking for a place and family, they can one day call home.

Many couples experience the pain of infertility, so adopting is a wonderful way to become a parent.

On the contrary many who are single choose to adopt children as well.

Right now according to the United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) more than 150 million children throughout the world are in need of a home.

There are nearly half a million children who are in need of a home in the US.

Ways to celebrate today

  • Become an ambassador for this day.
  • Donate to a family and help them fund their adoption.
  • Learn about famous adoptees, such as Babe Ruth, Eleanor Roosevelt, Melissa Gilbert, Steve Jobs, Leo Tolstoy, and Dave Thomas.
  • Watch an adopted-themed movie, like Disney’s TarzanLilo and StitchAnnie, and Meet the Robinsons.
