Folks strap on your seatbelts because this is what happens on a national story, mainstream is gonna rip apart both sides. There will be good, bad and ugly. We just want to make sure you’re informed.

Let’s start from the top, several bloggers say mainstream has once again rushed to judgement without doing all their homework. They’re comparing the Trayvon Martin case to the 2006 Duke lacrosse case, in which three members of the lacrosse team were accused of rape by a black woman, resulting in a media firestorm and public outcry.

Over time, an investigation was performed. DNA tests taken, and inconsistencies in Magnum’s story came to light. Finally, in April 2007, the attorney general of North Carolina dropped all charges against the players, saying they had been the victims of a “rush to judgement.”

Now George Zimmerman’s supporters are working to stem the rising tide of public outrage aimed at him after he shot and killed Florida teenager Trayvon Martin last month. A new picture of the victim—taken from the 17-year-old’s Facebook and Twitter accounts and witness testimony—has emerged. This is what most Americans judge you on, your appearance.

The new images they say paint a somewhat different picture of Trayvon than the one the media has been talking about for the last several weeks.

Above Trayvon Martin is seen as what mainstream calls ” a fresh-faced, innocent looking teenager” and the man who shot him, George Zimmerman, is right out of a booking photo.

Mainstream says there’s a big difference between the typical teenager Martin’s family and supporters say he was and the way he presented himself on social media. They say it gives you a closer look at the young man’s personality.

Trayvon reportedly was sporting gold teeth, and had several large tattoos. This one was on his wrist, apparently it’s mother’s name.

This photo, taken from Trayvon’s MySpace page, shows another large tattoo that took up most of his upper arm.

It seems that Trayvon was also on Twitter, but his account seems to have been recently deleted by his family or friends.

His screen name was “@NO_LIMIT_NIGGA.”

Before he died Martin’s cousin alludes to an incident with a bus driver on Feb. 21, “Yu ain’t tell me you swung on a bus driver.”

The same week, Martin was suspended for 10 days from Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School in North Miami-Dade. “He was not suspended for something dealing with violence or anything like that,” his father said. “It wasn’t a crime he committed, but he was in an unauthorized area [on school property],” declining to offer more details.

But a family spokesman said on Monday that Martin was suspended because marijuana residue was found in his book bag. Some blogs are now asking if Trayvon was a small-time drug dealer. They claim this Facebook post on February 5th has them asking that question.

A few days after he was shot and killed, friends tweeted this.
