An 18-year-old was fatally shot about noon today outside the Eastman branch of the Cleveland Public Library on Lorain Avenue at West 116th Street.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office identified him as Mustafa McWhorter, of Cleveland.
Police said McWhorter was walking with a friend along Lorain Avenue near the library when a person pulled up in a red pickup truck. The driver fired one shot, striking McWhorter in the side. He died at MetroHealth Medical Center.
