Kenya Moore is glad to be getting a break from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” to battle it out in the boardroom for a good cause.
The former Miss USA is about to be all over your TV this fall. “RHOA” returns tonight at 8 p.m. on Bravo, and Kenya’s also appearing on the upcoming season of “The Celebrity Apprentice.” On the show, she’ll be playing
During a chat about her show with Donald Trump, Kenya said it was actually refreshing to work on different projects with a new set of people because “RHOA” has become really draining for her. She told Us Weekly, “There’s only so much negativity and toxicity you can take.”
Hmmm that Could this mean that Kenya’s ready to jump ship on “RHOA”? Not likely. She said in her new tagline that people often have a hard time figuring her out, so she just lets them work themselves into exhaustion trying.
Her cast rival, Phaedra Parks, also decided to take a break from the drama when she opted not to show up to Apollo Nida’s sentencing over the summer. The lawyer-author explained that she believed her children needed her much more than her now-estranged husband would at the time, so she packed up the kids and went to spend some time with her mom.
“I have decided not to be at our house because of the paparazzi and people trying to snap pictures of my children,” she explained in a confessional. “As a mother, the biggest concern for me is to protect my children through this whole tumultuous time.”
Apollo was upset with Phaedra for abandoning him, but she didn’t think her presence would do anything to change the outcome of his sentencing. Besides, Phaedra believes that he turned his back on his family well before she ever decided to put him on the backburner. She explained, “Apollo’s actions constitute the ultimate betrayal because I trusted him and I thought he was a changed man.”
