It seems like Kim Kardashian’s new platinum hairdo has made more news than the moon landing lately because people cannot stop freaking out about what a drastic change it is. (OK, maybe just me.) But one question has remained unanswered so far—why did she do it?
According to People, the answer has to do with an iconic blonde pop star. That’s right, none other than Madonna inspired Kim’s big transformation:
“I’ve always had this image of Madonna with platinum hair in my references folder on my computer and I’ve been waiting a long time to try the look,” she tells PEOPLE. “I thought what better time than right now for Paris Fashion Week.”
Madonna! Who would have thought Kim was so inspired by the Material Girl? Kim also said the decision to go blonde was totally last minute, which I can’t even imagine….
