According to TMZ Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky pleaded with the United States Congress Wednesday for more aid to help defend his homeland. He even used comparisons like the attacks on Pearl Harbor and 9/11.
Zelensky presented a heartbreaking video, expressing the toll that was has taken upon the country and the citizens. He was introduced to Congress by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
— “It is my high privilege and distinct honor to present to you President Volodymyr Zelensky. She ended her introduction with “Glory to Ukraine.”
In the video Congress got a good look at what the country looks like since Russia invaded, injured women and children, buildings bombed, it was quite hard to watch.
Zelensky explained that he wasnt just fighting for the freedom of his country but for the freedom of Europe. At the end of the presentation, Congress left Zelensky with a 30 sec round of applause.
