Woman checking beauty product at pharmacy store

Hey my curly girls! I used to think that I had to buy expensive products in order to have a good hair day, but I learned that the store in my neighborhood could hold me down for half the cost! Now I’m not saying not to buy the pricier products (do your thing), but there are some really good gems I’ve found at my local drugstore!

Remember, hair types differ so although the products I’m going to list work for me, it could vary for you. That’s the beauty of having options, if one doesn’t work try another! These products aren’t going to hurt your pockets and if you don’t like it, most drugstores let you return it!

The products I’ve listed below can be found at Target, CVS, Walgreens, and even TJ Maxx|Marshalls!

  • The Doux Bee Girl “Crazy Sexy Curl” Honey Setting Foam (approximately $14) I love this mousse! It smells good, it’s lightweight on my hair but has great hold, and my wash and go’s hold up for multiple days!
  • Camille Rose “Honey Hydrate” from the Leave In Collection (approximately $14) Now this one you’ll either love it or hate it! It’s part of their two step leave in series. Now the honey factor is real and can leave your hair feeling a sticky mess, so I don’t overdue this product! But it’s the way it leaves my curls feeling so soft and silky! It even elongates my curls so I don’t see a lot of shrinkage. I’ve used this product alone for a wash and go and although it doesn’t promote the best definition, I still like the natural, silky look it gives!
  • Aunt Jackie’s “Curl La La” Defining Curl Custard (approximately $7) This is one of my favorites creams! It’s not heavy at all and it works good alone (I personally don’t like layering hair products). This cream is hydrating and give my curls soft hold with lots of volume!
  • Aunt Jackie’s “Ready Set Hold” Braid Setting Foam (approximately $8) I know it says braid setting foam, but to me, it’s a mousse and I love mousse on my hair! Honestly, it’s just a solid foam and I haven’t had a bad curl day with it yet!
  • Mielle Organics “Honey & Ginger” Styling Gel (approximately $12) This gel was my holy grail before I started making my own flaxseed gel (I’ll have a post on that soon too) but Mielle products in general, just work! Smells good, great definition, and doesn’t flake!

Ok so those are some of my favorite drugstore buys! Be sure to share some of your favorites with me too! I’ve posted photos of each product below as well, that way you can’t miss em’ when you’re shopping!

Check back daily for more tips! Love ya!
