In the first portion of her record, Nicki emphasizes her problem with Wayne not putting an offer on the table.

“Dear Wayne, if this sh*t ever get to you/Listen to me, there’s some things I should have said to you/First of all, every rapper need to bow to you/As a far, I am really proud of you. Second of all, I gotta say thanks/You really did a lot for my out of state banks/With that being said, let’s get down to the real/Still don’t understand what went down with the deal/I’ve been waiting on you just to give me the word/You know, a couple of nouns and a couple of words/I do it for them girls that be flipping the bird/Trying to get up out of the hood and get into the ‘burbs/But everything you said, was it just pretend? Maybe it was all a game like ESPN? I don’t really care if they hate on you/I be turning down meetings just to wait on you…” (“Letter To Lil Wayne”)

She also proclaims her loyalty toward Wayne and his lack of showing it back.

“But what I don’t understand is you told me you’d sign me if you wasn’t ready to totally get behind me/I mean honestly, how could you deny me/You’re Harry and I’ll always be Hermione … This will be the realest sh*t that I ever wrote/You see me falling/Why you never sent down a rope/I would have climbed up, but now my time’s up/I swear to God, I thought you had it lined up…” (“Letter To Lil Wayne”)

Some media sites claim the newly released track stems from over four years ago.

Young Money’s first lady, Nicki Minaj, has been Lil Wayne’s secret female weapon ever since he took her under his wing, but an unreleased Nicki track (that was leaked over the weekend) proves their relationship wasn’t always peaches and cream. The “Letter To Lil Wayne,” that allegedly dates back to 2008, claims Weezy was hesitant before officially signing the femcee to the YMCMB roster. Rapping over Wayne’s “Something You Forgot” beat, Nicki voices her frustrations with the delayed record deal. (Miss Info TV)

Minaj officially joined Wayne’s Young Money roster in late summer 2009.

The battle among labels to sign Minaj heightened this summer and finalized with Minaj signing an exceptional and very unique deal with Young Money/Universal, where she retains and owns all of her 360 rights, including merchandising, sponsorships, endorsements, touring and publishing. Lil Wayne asserts, ‘I am honored to have Nicki Minaj as Young Money’s First Lady. She is a star.’ Minaj’s debut album is anticipated to be released in early 2010 and will be distributed through Universal Motown. (Press Release)
