Tankard Family

The CDC reports that one in five formula-fed babies and one in 20 breastfed babies are Vitamin D deficient, a fact Marcus and Tish Tankard (“Thicker Than Water”) learned after doctors prescribed a supplement for their infant son.

Now, the Tankards are teaming with supplement maker Kids Health Co. and Baby Vitamin D (babyvitamind.com) to educate families on the importance of the vitamin and the new standards set by the American Academy of Pediatrics that doubled the recommended daily intake of Vitamin D for infants and children to 400 international units (IU) a day.

The newest cast members of the popular Bravo reality series “Thicker Than Water,” Marcus and Tish announced their pregnancy on-air and weekly invited millions of viewers to share in the planning for the birth of Baby Micah.  After learning their son is Vitamin D deficient the couple chose to continue being open about their experience in hopes of raising awareness about the need for infants to take Vitamin D supplements.

“Thicker Than Water” is a reality series that follows Jazz legend Ben Tankard and his outsized, fun loving family.  Marcus is Ben’s eldest son and joined the show with wife Tish in season two.
